About the Siemens Merit Scholarship

The NMSC is an independent, not for profit organization. Their purpose is to provide a system to identify and honor exceptional high school students for corporations, foundations and other organizations that wish to sponsor college undergraduate scholarships.

All phases of the Siemens Merit Scholarship program including the selection of the winners and payment of the scholarship stipends are handled for the Siemens Foundation by the National Merit Corporation.

Which Siemens divisions can participate?

Awards

Each Siemens Merit Scholarship stipend is $4,000 ($1,000 per year). This stipend is distributed each year for up to four years of college undergraduate study or until baccalaureate degree requirements are completed, whichever comes first. The winners' annual stipend will not be affected by other scholarship aid or by approved change in college.

How to enter

Employees whose children are currently in their junior year should apply for this scholarship program. Siemens Merit Scholarships will be awarded in the spring of the students senior year.

Children of employees who will complete high school and enroll full time in college in 2014 must take the PSAT/NMSQT in the fall of 2012, on the date their school chooses for the administration.

At the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year, the student should obtain a copy of the 2012 Official Student Guide to the PSAT/NMSQT from the high school counselor and make arrangements with the school to take the PSAT/NMSQT in October.

Each student (or parent on behalf of the student) is required to submit a completed 2014 Siemens Merit Scholarship Program Entry Form by April 1, 2013.
