The Siemens Awards for Advanced Placement are awarded each year to students with the greatest number of scores of 5 on eight AP math and science exams, as well as to teachers and schools based on student participation and performance in Advanced Placement math, science, and technology courses.

Note: There is no application or nomination process for the Siemens Awards for Advanced Placement.


The College Board identifies the students, teachers and high schools for the Siemens Foundation. The recipients of the awards are notified in the spring.

Scholarships & Awards

Students:
If you've earned grades of 5 in AP science and math, you may be eligible for a $2,000–5,000 scholarship.


Scholarships in the amount of $2000 are awarded to students from each of the 50 states who have earned the greatest number of AP grades of 5 in eight exams. Each state potentially has two winners, one male and one female. Two additional national winners (one male, one female) are awarded a $5000 college scholarship. The exams are:Biology, Calculus BC, Chemistry, Computer Science AB, Environmental Science, Physics C : Mechanics, Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism, and Statistics.


Students may be awarded a state or national AP award only once, although state winners may be considered for the national award in subsequent years.


Teachers:
One teacher from every state for excellence in teaching AP mathematics and science. Each teacher receives $1,000 and a plaque.


High Schools:
$1,000 award and plaque to one high school from every state for providing students opportunities to participate in and succeed in AP math and science courses.
